R.R. Cassidy, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team in Beaumont, Texas. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical utility, renewable energy, and solar construction projects. The Estimator will lead the estimating process from initial bid review through proposal submission, collaborating closely with operations, project management, engineering, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project pursuit and execution. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of electrical construction practices, and the ability to independently manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting the company's growth by identifying project risks, optimizing costs, and delivering winning proposals.

This is an onsite position located in Beaumont, TX. Candidates must be able to work in the office Monday - Friday.


  • Lead the estimating process for electrical utility and renewable energy projects from bid solicitation through proposal submission.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure complete scope coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project requirements, risks, and constructability considerations.
  • Collaborate with operations, project management, engineering, and leadership teams to develop bid strategies and project execution plans.
  • Prepare complete bid packages, including pricing summaries, scope narratives, assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.
  • Identify project risks and value-engineering opportunities to improve competitiveness and profitability.
  • Maintain estimating databases, production rates, and historical cost information to support accurate forecasting and continuous improvement.
  • Support project turnover and handoff activities to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to operations.

  • 4–8 years of estimating experience in electrical utility construction, electrical contracting, renewable energy, solar EPC, or related infrastructure industries.
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing estimates for projects ranging from $50K to $10M+.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, utility infrastructure, and/or solar energy systems.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam Revu, and CAD-based drawing review tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience building detailed cost models and bid analyses.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Experience evaluating project risk, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting bid strategy development.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company and industry standards.
