Job Summary:ย 
We are hiring an Underground Utility Technician to assist the Leadman and crew in day-to-day field operations. This role involves hands-on work in trenching, conduit installation, equipment operation, and site preparation. The ideal candidate will have the required safety and equipment training and be ready to support the team in a fast-paced underground utility environment.ย 

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Assist the Leadman with daily tasks on the job site, including setup, excavation, and installation.ย 

  • Operate heavy equipment (within certification limits) such as mini-excavators, trenchers, and skid steers.ย 

  • Follow instructions for trenching, conduit placement, backfill, and other underground work.ย 

  • Ensure proper safety practices are followed at all times.ย 

  • Help maintain a clean and organized job site.ย 

  • Assist in setting trench boxes, ladders, and traffic control devices as needed.ย 

  • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment.ย 

  • Work cooperatively with crew members to maintain production goals.ย 

Required Training & Certifications:ย 

  • Operatorโ€™s License for Heavy Equipmentย 

  • OSHA 10ย 

  • Confined Space Entryย 

  • Trenching & Excavation Safetyย 

  • Competent Person Certificationย 

  • Silica Awareness / Ladder Safetyย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in underground construction or utility work.ย 

  • Ability to take direction and work in a team setting.ย 

  • Basic understanding of site safety, excavation, and underground utility practices.ย 

  • Willingness to learn and grow into a more senior role.ย 

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.ย 

Physical Requirements:ย 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.ย 

  • Comfortable working in trenches, confined spaces, and various weather conditions.ย 

  • Able to stand, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.ย
