Location Candidates must reside in Northern California. This position will be remote working in close collaboration with our corporate headquarters in Allen, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth area).

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled experienced Field Applications Engineer specializing in solar inverters and energy storage systems. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and solutions to customers, assisting with system integration, commissioning, and delivering training and product demonstrations. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implantation and operation of solar inverter and energy storage projects.

Responsibilities

Technical Guidance:

  • Provide technical assistance to customers, installers, and sales teams, addressing inquiries related to solar inverters and energy storage systems.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues to identify root causes and propose effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.

System Integration and Commissioning:

  • Support customers in integrating solar inverters and energy storage systems into their existing infrastructure.
  • Assist with system commissioning, including equipment configuration, firmware upgrades, and performance testing.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and audits to ensure proper installation and adherence to industry standards and guidelines.

Training and Product Demonstrations:

  • Conduct technical training sessions for customers, installers, and internal teams on solar inverter and energy storage system technologies.
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations, showcasing the features, capabilities, and benefits of our solutions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in solar inverter and energy storage technologies and share knowledge with the team and customers.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create technical documentation, including installation guides, provide feedback on product manuals, and best practice documents.
  • Provide feedback to the product development team based on customer feedback and field observations to drive product improvement.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and proactively addressing their requirements.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, solution design, and proposal development.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling based on customer requirements and project specifications.

  • Experience infield applications engineering, preferably in solar inverters and energy storage systems.
  • NABCEP certification a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of solar inverter technologies, energy storage systems, and their integration into renewable energy systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to solar energy and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical system design, power electronics, and control systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues infield deployments.
