About the Job

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading [commercial and/or residential solar construction] projects from ideation through completion. This position requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, [including clients, subcontractors, utility providers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), inspectors, and internal field crews,] most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.

The Project Manager ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable building codes, electrical standards, and company safety policies.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict and assign resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner in coordination with management personnel
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Coordinate and verify the delivery of materials and equipment to construction sites
  • Coordinate efforts with clients for the overall completion of projects
  • Identify, analyze and manage project risks
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan based on established deadlines
  • Organize and motivate project teams
  • Analyze team scalability
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustment and progress

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with construction management or scheduling software (e.g., MS Project,Monday.com, Site Capture, etc.) preferred.
Physical Requirements of the Job
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and traverse uneven terrain at active construction sites.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
  • May be required to work at heights and on rooftops.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and direct sunlight.
  • Exposure to construction site conditions including dust, noise, moving mechanical parts, and electrical systems.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, and fall protection equipment when required.
  • Travel to job sites required; may involve local or regional travel.
