Job description

Noble Company, a subsidiary of FPC International, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented, technical and strong problem solver to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. In this crucial role, the individual will be responsible for ensuring all facility and production equipment is operational while maintaining required documentation for all PM's and inspections. This position includes light fabrication (manual lathes, etc.), machining, welding (stick/mig) and industrial electrical tasks.
Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm, flexibility needed to work mandatory overtime hours.
Approximate Rate of Pay: $25 - $30 / hr. + Annual Bonus

Location: 8000 Greenwell Springs Rd., Baton Rouge, LA.
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Team Dynamics: Works closely with the Operations and Maintenance teams.
Certifications: None required.
PPE: Provided by the company. A generous safety shoe reimbursement is available.
The Ideal Candidate will have: A background in manufacturing or industrial maintenance, with a strong understanding of machinery, including knowledge of machine types and output. Looking for an individual with excellent critical thinking skills, a technical mindset, and a competent understanding of specialized tools to troubleshoot machines.

What you'll be doing:
  • Will perform ad-hoc welding (stick/mig), fabricating (manual lathes, etc.), machining and industrial electrical (up to 480 volts) tasks. Must use LOTO before starting any repair to a piece of equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose, test, replace or repair equipment in a timely manner.
  • Performs PM's on plant and production equipment. Responsible for documenting repairs and updating equipment files.
  • Responsible for the installation of new equipment.
  • Inspect buildings and systems to identify any issues.
  • Keeps spare parts and maintenance items neat and organized.
  • Participates in ongoing technical, safety and operational process training.
  • Assists the supervisor in maintaining the inventory of spare parts and supplies. May make suggestions to the supervisor with re-orders.

Background you'll need:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of manufacturing experience working as a technician or troubleshooting industrial production equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with general maintenance processes and methods. (ex. LOTO, PM's, Critical spares)
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, packaging equipment and general warehouse equipment.
  • Must have strong project management and problem solving abilities.
