Role Purpose

Corning is a global leader in materials science, and our Solar Wafers Division is helping drive innovation within the rapidly growing clean energy industry. As Division Controller, you will serve as the senior finance leader and trusted business partner to the Solar Wafer Division Leadership Team, providing the financial insight, strategic guidance, and operational support needed to accelerate growth and drive business performance. This is a highly visible leadership role at the intersection of finance, manufacturing, and strategy, influencing investment decisions, capital allocation, operational performance, and the long-term growth and direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the strategic finance leader and primary business partner to Division Leadership, providing data-driven analysis, challenging assumptions, and translating financial and operational insights into timely, actionable recommendations that drive growth, profitability, and informed executive decision-making.
  • Lead the division's budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial performance management, and accounting operations; drive continuous improvement in internal controls, financial reporting, compliance, and business processes to support profitable growth and operational excellence.
  • Develop a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer demand, competitive trends, and growth opportunities to help shape business strategy; provide financial leadership on capital investments, manufacturing expansion, acquisition opportunities, and portfolio decisions, ensuring alignment with division objectives and return-on-investment expectations.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and supply chain leaders to improve productivity, cost competitiveness, asset utilization, profitability, and return on invested capital.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance organization, building leadership capability, succession strength, and a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
  • 15+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience within complex, global organizations
  • Proven experience leading finance and accounting operations, including financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and performance management
  • 10+ years of finance leadership experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, clean energy, advanced materials, or other capital-intensive operations.
  • Demonstrated success developing and maintaining effective internal control environments while driving measurable business performance improvements
  • Experience evaluating strategic investments, acquisition opportunities, market expansion initiatives, and associated business risks to support long-term growth and value creation
  • Proven ability to deliver financial analysis and strategic recommendations that influence executive-level decision-making
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing finance teams across multiple disciplines, including accounting, cost accounting, FP&A, business finance, and financial controls
Desired Qualifications
  • CPA, MBA, CMA, or equivalent advanced certification
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing operations within advanced materials, semiconductor, solar, clean energy, process manufacturing, or other capital-intensive industries.
  • Experience supporting major capital investment programs, plant expansions, new facility start-ups, or large-scale operational transformations
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, or similar ERP and business intelligence platforms
