Job description

Description

As a Renewable Energy Electrician Apprentice at Gardner Energy, you will support the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of solar and battery energy systems. You will work alongside licensed electricians, foremen, and field crews to deliver safe, high-quality electrical work. This role contributes to advancing clean energy while developing your technical skills through hands-on experience in the field.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform onsite electrical work while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with installation of electrical components and interconnection for solar PV and battery systems.
  • Follow building plan sets, schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Participate in daily job site safety meetings and complete job hazard assessments.
  • Track time and complete daily job reports.
  • Provide onsite customer service during installation activities.
  • Acquire the necessary hand and power tools. 
  • Support troubleshooting of solar and battery systems with lead electricians.
  • Set up monitoring systems and commissioning requirements as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites and company vehicles.
  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an electrical apprenticeship program with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Understanding of local and national electrical codes.
  • Ability to safely lift, push, and pull materials up to 75 pounds.
  • Experience with hand and power tools; must provide own tools.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment such as a digital multimeter.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with clean MVR and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Interest in long-term career-growth in the electrical and renewable energy industry. 
  • Some travel may be required.

  • Expected Schedule M-Th 7AM-5:30PM OR M-F 7AM-3:30PM (Depending on project)
