Job description

Hiring Solar Construction Superintendents – $110K–$115K + Per Diem | Travel Role

Take the next step in your construction or solar career by joining a nationally recognized engineering known for innovation, stability, and exceptional employee care. This role is ideal for candidates with hands‑on solar construction or electrical construction management experience — or those with a construction management degree and real‑world project engineering or project management exposure. You’ll operate as an owner’s representative, managing subcontractors rather than being the subcontractor, giving you a true leadership role on commercial solar projects across the East Coast.

About the Role:

As a Solar Construction Superintendent, you will oversee commercial solar construction projects such as DG sites, carports, and small ground‑mount systems. Projects typically run 12–18 months, and current openings are located in Southern Illinois and Upstate New York. You’ll manage daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and represent the owner throughout the project lifecycle. We offer exceptional benefits, monthly flights home, and even travel support for significant others — reflecting their commitment to employee well‑being.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily construction activities on commercial solar sites
  • Manage multiple subcontractors to ensure schedule, budget, and quality targets are met
  • Coordinate installation of solar carports and ground‑mount DG systems
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and workmanship
  • Enforce all safety regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards
  • Serve as the owner’s representative, ensuring alignment between subcontractors and project goals
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in construction management or project supervision
  • Strong understanding of solar construction processes
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and coordinate subcontractor teams
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems related to solar installations
  • Experience as a project engineer or project manager (large or small company) is highly relevant
Compensation & Travel:
  • Salary: $110K–$115K
  • Per Diem & Expenses Covered
  • Travel: Projects located anywhere east of the Missouri River
  • Home Travel: Monthly flights home provided
  • Family Travel: Significant others may fly out every other month
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
  • Opportunity to step into an owner’s rep role and run your own project
  • Work for a respected engineering firm with strong growth pathways
  • Supportive culture that values people, safety, and long‑term career development
  • Meaningful work contributing to sustainable, renewable energy infrastructure
Work Environment:
  • This is a hands‑on, site‑based role at commercial solar construction projects.
  • You’ll work outdoors, manage subcontractor crews, and ensure safe, efficient execution of installations.
  • Projects typically span 12–18 months, followed by reassignment to new sites.
