Registered Nurse (RN) PCU Stepdown | Brooksville, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time | Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends | Pay: $30.76 to $41.50/hr based on experience | Shift Differentials: Nights $4.75/hr, Weekends $3.00/hr, National Certification $2/hr | Sign-On Bonus: $15K Nights / $10K Days | Relocation: Case by case
Overview
Join a high-acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team providing specialized care to cardiac and telemetry patients. This 46-bed unit offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to manage complex patient cases, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and advance your critical care skills in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes promptly.
  • Administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses, and intervene for adverse effects.
  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a progressive care setting.
  • Operate and monitor telemetry and drips as prescribed.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Advocate for patient needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Document care accurately and ensure compliance with nursing standards and protocols.
Qualifications
Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current Florida license or multistate compact license (Florida RN license required within 60 days if compact).
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience (hospital, LTACH, home health, or rehab considered).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Critical thinking, strong communication, and computer proficiency.
Preferred
  • Experience in cardiac PCU, telemetry, or stepdown units.
  • Ability to manage a variety of cardiac drips.
  • Previous experience in high-acuity, progressive care settings.

  • Hourly pay: $30.76-$41.50/hr with applicable shift and certification differentials.
