Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking a CERTIFIED SPECIAL INSPECTOR with 2 - 5 years of relevant test experience for work in our Charlotte, NC office.
SPECIAL INSPECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Verify construction is being completed in accordance with all plans and specifications
Carry out inspections, sampling and testing
Coordinate with clients, general contractors, and GTA Project Managers
Record and document the construction in daily field reports
Contribute to the generation of technical reports and special inspection summaries
Oversee, train, and mentor junior/less-experienced staff
Requirements
SPECIAL INSPECTOR REQUIREMENTS:
At least one of the following:
  1. ICC Certifications (Soils, Masonry, Fireproofing, Structural Steel Welding, Structural Steel Bolting, Reinforced Concrete, etc.)
  2. ACI Certified Construction Special Inspector (CCS), ACI CCS, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I, ACI/CRSI Certificate for Post-Installed Concrete Anchor Installation Inspector.
  3. Special Inspection of Firestopping

At least one of the following:
  1. P.E., E.I.T, P.G., G.I.T.
  2. NICET Level I, II, III or IV (Geotechnical Engineering Technology Construction)
  3. NICET Level I, II, III, or IV (Soils Certificate in Construction Materials Testing)
  4. AWS or CWI
  5. American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Level II or III
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant testing experience required
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unaided and up to 100 lbs. with assistance; frequent bending, hammering and other repetitious movements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
