Job description

Job title            :           Associate Graphic Designer

Client                :           Medical Device Manufacturing company

Duration           :            12 months with the possibility of extension

Location           :            North Haven, CT 06473

Shift                  :           1st shift, New Haven site, 4 days per week in office requirement

Job Summary

Seeking an Associate Graphic Designer to design and develop packaging and product artwork supporting manufacturing requirements for medical devices. The role will ensure artwork meets customer requirements, Medtronic design standards, labeling requirements, and approved specifications while collaborating with marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and create packaging and product artwork for manufactured products.
  • Develop labels, lidstock, display box artwork, and other packaging components.
  • Support formal artwork approval processes and maintain packaging/labeling procedures.
  • Review vendor proofs, identify discrepancies, make corrections, and communicate required changes.
  • Ensure printed components accurately match approved artwork files.
  • Manage multiple projects, changing scopes, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with department and cross-functional teams to resolve artwork questions and issues.
  • Work with Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams throughout the artwork development process.
  • Write and execute software validation protocols.
  • Prepare test reports documenting validation activities.
  • Support artwork development and labeling activities while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualifying education/experience.
  • Significant experience in graphic design production.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with Mac and PC operating systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with department peers and management.
  • Medical device labeling experience preferred.
  • Experience with labeling systems such as Priysm and Loftware/Spectrum preferred.

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma + 4+ years relevant graphic design experience; OR
  • Associate’s Degree + 2+ years relevant experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
