Job Title: Unity Software Developer for HoloMOTS

Job Location: Montreal, QC

Job Code: 43744

Job Schedule: Day Shift

Compensation Range: Between $55,500 - $102,500 CDN annually

Software developer for the HoloMOTS application at the Canadian Space Agency.

HoloMOTS is an augmented reality application developed using the Unity platform and running inside the Microsoft HoloLens 2 helmet.ย ย 

The purpose of the application is to assist in the training of astronauts at the Canadian Space Agency. It allows the trainee to navigate virtually inside and outside the space station and to operate the Canadian robotic arms.

Essential Functions:ย 

  • Develop the HoloMOTS application for the Microsoft HoloLens 2 using the Unity platform and Microsoft Visual Studio;
  • Develop the HORUS application on which HoloMOTS is based on;
  • Work closely with the customer on the design and implementation of new features;ย 
  • Investigate problems and new features and produce written investigation reports;
  • Write test procedures;
  • Participate in the Formal Qualification Testing of HoloMOTS with the customer;
  • Possibility of working with web development frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science or a computer graphics programming related degree;
  • Minimum of one year's experience in software development in Unity;
  • Experience in software development in C# and/or C++ programming;
  • Experience in working with the Microsoft HoloLens environment is an asset;
  • Experience in frontend development using Vue.js is an asset;
  • Experience in software development in JavaScript and/or TypeScript is an asset;
  • Able to work independently and in a team-based environment;
  • Strong English written and spoken skills.

  • Must be eligible for registration with theย Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
