We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Software Tester to join our team to develop Civil 3D. In this role, you'll use knowledge of end-user processes to plan, develop, execute, and maintain test strategies with the objective of early detection of defects that impact customers, in assigned features or products, bringing customer perspective into the software development process to ensure product goals are met, and ensuring our customers receive exceptional functionality and services. Your involvement in presenting and demonstrating these functionalities to partners will be crucial to our project's success.

This role is hybrid and based in Toronto, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Own the quality of one or more Civil 3D features or workflow areas

  • Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Perform deep troubleshooting and root cause isolation in collaboration with developers

  • Identify risks, edge cases, and complex real-world scenarios involving Civil 3D objects and large datasets

  • Drive continuous improvements in test coverage, automation frameworks, test tools, and overall QA processes

  • Ensure product quality across Windows platforms, hardware configurations, GPU drivers, and performance conditions

  • Participate in requirements and design reviews, influencing design decisions for testability and quality

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, UX, DevOps, and Release teams to deliver high-quality releases

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related disciplines

  • 3-5 years of experience in software testing, design institutes, engineering software workflows, or related industries

  • Hands-on experience testing engineering, CAD, or modeling software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives, assess risks, propose solutions, and solve complex problems

  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD systems, defect tracking tools, and test management platforms

  • Ability to design effective test strategies and lead the testing of complex features

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • High attention to detail and strong quality mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid experience testing complex engineering or CAD applications

  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and the full product development lifecycle

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $84,000 and $123,200. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
