OCH Technologies is looking for a talented and experienced QA Engineer/Software Application Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of a critical government web application undergoing modernization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing methodologies, automation, and quality assurance processes, with experience in both legacy and modern software environments.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for legacy and new system components.
  • Design and implement automated test suites to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with developers to identify and resolve software defects.
  • Verify data integrity during database migrations and system updates.
  • Conduct security and compliance testing to ensure adherence to government standards.
  • Document and report test results, including detailed bug reports.
  • Participate in code reviews from a quality assurance perspective.
  • Assist in defining and improving QA processes and methodologies.

Responsibilities may evolve over time to support team and organizational goals, but will remain consistent with the overall scope of the role.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, Science, or related field


Experience

  • At least five (5) + years of professional software testing experience
  • Strong experience with manual and automated testing methodologies
  • Experience testing web applications and database-driven systems
  • Familiarity with Government software development and testing processes

Security Clearance Requirement

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with testing Oracle PL/SQL based systems
  • Knowledge of NoSQL database testing
  • Familiarity with microservice testing environments
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks testing
  • Automation for web application benchmarking and scripted testing
