Job description

  • The Supervisor SDET has knowledge in designing and implementing test automation frameworks and strategies, with experience in programming languages, system design principles, and various testing techniques and tools.
  • They are responsible and accountable for ensuring software quality, leading research and development efforts, and staying updated on technology trends to improve the organization's software solutions and overall technical strategy.
  • The Supervisor SDET mentors Senior and Junior SDET's and provides coaching and facilitates knowledge sharing to ensure colleagues continued growth on technology best practices to ensures that technical solutions are developed in a way that are scalable, maintainable, secure, and efficient.
  • Works closely with AFA Division and Department leaders to coordinate work and project priorities.
  • The Supervisor SDET is responsible for developing/implementing Innovative approaches to aid in meeting and achieving defined metrics to aid in meeting organizational objectives.

Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, mathematics, engineering, physics, or similar preferred; commensurate experience in software testing and software development is acceptable
Technical Skills and Requirements
  • Competent in database principles and at scripting SQL queries
  • High degree of knowledge and experience in organizationally accepted Software Testing Tools and languages (e.g., Azure DevOps pipeline and test plans, xUnit, nUnit, Jmeter, Jasmine, Mocha, MOQ, TestComplete, SoapUI, and Selenium)
  • Expert in test design and test automation focusing on functional, security, performance, mobile, load and infrastructure/ workstation testing.
  • Expert in software testing best practices
  • Competent knowledge of a multi-platform environment like Mac, Unix and Windows
  • Competent in code coverage tools
  • Moderate degree of understanding in the usage of tools used for software development (e.g., Visual Studio, Chrome Developer Tools, SQL Server Management Studio))
  • Novice skilled in object-oriented design Novice skilled in object relational mapping (ORM)
  • Competent in testing patterns (e.g., inversion of control, dependency injection)
  • Strongly skilled in the testing of web services (e.g., SOAP and REST)
  • Competent in the use of code repository tools such as SVN and GitHub
  • Intermediate understanding of the use of continuous integration, continuous delivery and source code management
  • Strong understanding of secure coding and best practices
  • Strong skill in software analysis, design, and problem resolution
