Job description

Konami Gaming is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer IV to join our team!

This position is responsible for having extensive object oriented programming skills, project a professional array of customer relation habits, and work well in a team environment to attain company and customer objectives. This position under the guidance of the Manager, Interfaces & Embedded GUI, will work in conjunction with Quality Assurance and Software Design to develop new system features and maintain current system and industry requirements. The main objective of this role is to develop advanced software solutions, and impact the successful completion of projects while utilizing agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.

What you'll be doing:

Research and Development

  • Research, design, develop, operate and maintain software components and computing systems software to be applied too and integrated with engineering, hardware and manufacturing requirements.
  • Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development lifecycle to support the generation of high quality, sustainable engineering applications and products for long-term field use.
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Rarely requires assistance and consistently able to produce error free software that meets requirements.
  • Operates as a mentor to lower level engineers.
  • Provide advanced solutions to a variety of technical problems of intense scope and complexity. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Apply advanced/expert C++ experience to code new and enhanced development objectives.
  • Coordinate the testing scripts, documentation and deployment schedule with the Quality Assurance, Training and Documentation departments.
  • Follows and/or recommends changes to department processes and procedures and reviews software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.
  • Use best practices for software development, including functional specs, code reviews, revision control and unit testing
  • Create and/or review development design documentation as needed.

Customer Relations

  • Interact with customers to attain feedback of the stability and reliability of systems software.
  • Create and maintain solid customer relations

Leadership

  • Provides guidance to junior developers to drive the successful completion of programs
  • Functions in a project leadership role regularly

What we'll want you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, certification from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 to 11 years of extensive object oriented programming (C / C++). Experience in the Gaming Industry a major plus.
  • Experience with embedded SAS protocol development.
  • Experience with embedded system development and tools.
  • Experience with C, C++
  • Experience with Linux and gcc compiler a plus.
  • Experience with multi-threaded applications and socket APIs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A high degree of analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in Casino Management Systems and an understanding of technology requirements, constraints, and approaches will be highly regarded.
  • Advanced understanding and usage of Microsoft Office products. Must be able to communicate professionally and efficiently (verbal and written) with all levels of the business. Must be able to obtain and retain gaming licensure.

Work Environment:

  • Full time / 40 + Hours per week. Must be flexible for overtime, including evenings, weekends and Holidays as required.
  • Must be comfortable working in a cubicle with limited working space for long hours with the ability to remain seated at the computer terminal for extended periods. Extreme repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse and telephone. Position can be high stress and extremely fast paced. Ability to handle directive, assess situations, enter into dialogue and complete tasks. Must be able to communicate verbally and write in English.
  • Position shall work primarily in an office environment. Position shall maintain a cubicle in close proximity of other cubicles and offices.
