Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Senior Design Engineer for an onsite position in Enoch, Utah. This position is responsible for the design, development, and documentation of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. The role also provides technical leadership and mentorship to Design Engineers and Engineering Interns.
POSITION OVERVIEW
• Lead the design and development of complex electrical switchgear systems
• Develop general requirements, elevation and plan views, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits
• Lead electrical component selection and specification
• Provide guidance on component application, coordination, and compliance with project requirements
• Create and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC, ANSI, UL, and IEEE standards
• Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards
• Provide peer reviews of engineering deliverables completed by less experienced engineers
COMPENSATION
• $85,000-$95,000
SCHEDULE
• Full-Time
• Monday-Friday
• 8:00 AM-5:00 PM MST
• Onsite, 5 days per week
• Enoch, Utah
• Typical work week: 40 hours
• Approximately 10% overtime as needed
• Travel is not required
ROLE
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for Design Engineers and Engineering Interns
• Provide guidance on complex design challenges, protection schemes, control circuits, and customer requirements
• Support engineering training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Assist in developing and maintaining engineering standards, templates, and best practices
• Collaborate with mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams
• Review and interpret customer specifications and provide technical input during submittal, production, and post-shipment phases
• Participate in customer technical review meetings
• Support resolution of technical issues during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and post-shipment activities
• Independently manage complex projects while providing guidance and support to other engineers
• Evaluate technical alternatives and make sound engineering decisions
• Communicate technical concepts to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization

Requirements:

Requirements
• 7+ Years Of Experience In Switchgear Or Power Distribution Equipment Design REQUIRED
• Advanced Technical Expertise In Low- And Medium-Voltage Systems Up To 38kV, Including Electrical Protection And Control Systems REQUIRED
• Demonstrated Experience Leading Complex Engineering Projects From Concept Through Manufacturing And Testing REQUIRED
• Ability To Independently Manage Complex Projects With Minimal Oversight REQUIRED
• Experience With AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, And Microsoft Software REQUIRED
• Knowledge Of Relevant Electrical Standards Including IEC, IEEE, UL, NEMA, Or Similar Applicable Standards REQUIRED
• Bachelor Of Science Degree In Electrical Engineering Or Related Engineering Discipline REQUIRED
• Willingness To Work Approximately 10% Overtime As Needed REQUIRED
