West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Software discipline and Software Engineering team within our Technology and Experience (TechEx) Practice. Our Software team works across diverse industries such as startups, finance, healthcare, insurance, and energy.
As a Software Engineering (AI Concentration) Consulting Intern, you will work directly with a product team to understand our clients' business needs and strategies, delivering solutions that range from bond trading platforms integrated with various AI models to modernized legacy software, AI agents, web-based and native mobile applications. You will learn and receive mentorship from experienced professionals in software engineering, product development and consulting, working alongside senior software engineers, product managers, designers and executives. This role offers interns the chance to gain valuable insights and enhance their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to design and develop software applications
  • Work closely with clients to understand their business needs
  • Utilize an Agile approach for iterative product delivery
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes

  • If your expected graduation date falls outside of this range or changes, you are not eligible for this internship
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.)
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date; our culture emphasizes team collaboration within a hybrid work model
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%); travel expenses covered by West Monroe
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs
