Job description

We are seeking a versatile and technically strong Software Engineering Instructor to join our team in Monroe, NY. This individual will help students and/or learners strengthen their programming skills through hands-on instruction, mentoring, troubleshooting, and real-world development exercises.


The ideal candidate is a well-rounded software developer who can work comfortably across multiple programming languages and frameworks and has the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, approachable manner.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on programming instruction, tutoring, and technical mentorship.
  • Teach and support learners across multiple programming languages, frameworks, and development environments.
  • Develop practical exercises, examples, and learning materials focused on real-world software development.
  • Help learners troubleshoot code, identify bugs, and understand best practices for debugging and testing.
  • Support testing and regression testing to ensure applications function as expected.
  • Introduce learners to cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
  • Help learners understand and apply modern AI technologies, including AI frameworks, APIs, plugins, and integrations.
  • Adapt instruction to different experience levels and learning styles.
  • Stay current with emerging programming languages, development frameworks, AI technologies, and industry best practices.


Required Skills & Qualifications:


  • Strong programming background with versatility across common languages, including:
  • Ruby / Ruby on Rails
  • Python / Django
  • JavaScript
  • HTML / CSS
  • Strong understanding of core programming concepts with the flexibility to work across different frameworks and technology stacks.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based development environments.
  • Familiarity with AI capabilities, including AI frameworks, APIs, plugins, and application integrations.
  • Strong understanding of debugging, software testing, and regression testing.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to learners with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for helping others develop their technical abilities.
  • Ability to work onsite in Monroe, NY, 5 days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience as a programming instructor, trainer, tutor, mentor, teaching assistant, or technical lead.
  • Experience developing educational programs, coding exercises, or technical training materials.
  • Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into applications.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies, Git, APIs, and CI/CD practices.
