Position Overview

At Noble Machines, building robots is a team sport. As aย Lead Test Engineer, you will own the validation of our multipurpose humanoid robots across hardware, software, and AI systems. You will operate the robot directly to stress test real-world performance, design and execute test plans, analyze logs and data, and produce clear reports that enable engineers to improve reliability and capability.

This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring our robots are ready for deployment in demanding, production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate humanoid robots to execute functional, stress, and edge-case tests
  • Design and run tests covering mechanical, electrical, software, and AI behavior
  • Validate robot performance, safety, and reliability in lab and field environments
  • Document test procedures, results, failures, and observed behavior
  • Collect and analyze logs, telemetry, video, and AI outputs
  • Report clear, actionable findings to hardware, software, and AI engineers
  • Verify fixes and improvements through repeatable regression testing

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in robotics testing, systems testing, or hands-on technical roles
  • Experience operating complex hardware or robotic systems
  • Ability to design structured tests and clearly document results
  • Familiarity with testing or debugging hardware, software, and AI-driven systems
  • Comfortable working with logs, data, and basic analysis tools
  • Strong attention to detail and clear written communication
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, real-world environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with humanoid, legged, or autonomous robots
  • Exposure to AI or autonomy testing (perception, planning, control, or decision-making)
