Position Overview

The Software Tester (ST) defines and develops test standards for testing information technology products, equipment, and systems in accordance with company and contractual requirements. The ST reviews and evaluates complex test specifications, test results, and test trends and implements corrective actions as needed.

The Software Tester is responsible for determining optimal approaches to testing complex products and solutions to ensure compliance with applicable specifications. This includes identifying and recommending product or solution characteristics that improve testability and provide effective test data for diagnostic purposes.

The ST translates customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions while considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The role develops and directs the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules; coordinates integrated testing activities; reviews test requirements for completeness; performs technical analysis of complete systems; and prepares comprehensive system-level evaluations.
