So, whether you’re looking to build new skills, make an impact in your community, or inspire your team, we go there for you.

Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Technology Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong focus on EDI, file‑based integrations, and enterprise data flows, including integrating with Vendor systems. You must be able to personally read and diagnose ANSI X12 transactions and design, code, and maintain automated tests for EDI, API and file-based integrations.

This role combines hands‑on test automation, deep validation of EDI and integration patterns, and end‑to‑end transaction assurance across critical shipping and logistics platforms. You will work closely with development, integration, production support, and business teams to ensure accurate, timely, and auditable movement of transaction data between Purolator and its customers, partners, and internal systems.

The ideal candidate brings exceptional automation skills, solid understanding of EDI standards and acknowledgements, and experience automating testing high‑volume, business‑critical integrations in a fast‑paced Agile environment. This role will be responsible to deliver automation and assist teams with best practices to evolve existing automation frameworks to better support EDI and integration testing.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test frameworks focused on EDI, APIs, and file‑based integrations.
  • Assess and improve the current state of automation, with emphasis on increasing test coverage for EDI transactions, acknowledgements (e.g., 997/999), and downstream system impacts including integrating with Vendor Systems.
  • Validate end‑to‑end EDI workflows, including inbound/outbound files, transformations, routing, retries, error handling, and data reconciliation.
  • Create and execute integration test strategies and plans, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and traceability across systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify, document, track, and retest defects; produce clear test status and quality metrics.
  • Participate fully in the SDLC across Purolator’s shipping channel platforms, including (but not limited to):
    • EDI
    • SAP
  • Support production issue investigation related to EDI and integration failures, including root‑cause analysis and validation of fixes.
  • Guide QA team members on automation standards, EDI testing approaches, and reuse of test assets across projects.
  • Coordinate test execution across multiple concurrent initiatives involving shared integration platforms and trading partners.
  • Continuously research and recommend modern automation, AI‑assisted testing, and integration validation tools to improve quality and efficiency.
Education and Experience
  • University or College diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Design, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1–3 years of hands‑on QA experience, with strong focus on test automation and integration testing.
  • Proven experience testing EDI and file‑based integrations (e.g., X12 transactions), including acknowledgements and partner onboarding flows.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Robot Framework, SoapUI, Selenium, TestNG, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java).
  • Experience testing REST/SOAP APIs, XML, JSON, and file‑based data exchanges.
  • Working knowledge of databases (SQL; DynamoDB preferred) for test validation and analysis.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and test execution as part of automated delivery pipelines.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Zephyr, and Confluence for test management and documentation.
  • Experience with AWS‑based systems, SAP integrations, and EDI platforms is a strong asset.
  • Exposure to performance testing (e.g., JMeter) for high‑volume transaction flows is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex data and integration issues clearly.
  • Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and comfort operating in a hybrid work environment.
