Job description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Sr. Reliability Engineer for an opportunity with one of our premier clients in Oshkosh, WI.
Senior Reliability Engineer will be responsible for interpretation, planning, and execution of Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) requirements on government contracts. Participate in vehicle system design reviews to influence the design for maintainability in accordance with engineering standards and project scope. Interpret failure analysis data and suggest levels of maintenance and repair. Create operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting process instructions. Suggest design improvements to mitigate the risk of failures and reduce maintenance impact. Work collectively with cross functional teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.
YOUR IMPACT:
Perform Aftermarket Supportability analysis of engineering design to include design for maintainability.
Work with Test and Development, Design Engineering, and subcontractors to develop product lifecycle support plans.
Analyze vehicle platforms using Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
Customer communication for requirements planning and execution.
Provide technical assistance during design, prototype, pilot, and production phases when applicable.
Recommend and assist in the implementation of Conditioned Based Maintenance (CBM) solutions.
Collaborate with aftermarket design, provisioning, publication, and validation teams in support of the development of technical manuals and databases.
Ability to perform work autonomously and proactively report program status and completeness.
Prepare and present technical reports for leadership and customers as needed.

Continual pursuit of new systems and technologies to support vehicle logistics planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent).
Understanding of vehicular systems and their integration.
3 plus years of related experience in a heavy equipment industry.
Experience in reliability & maintainability engineering.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience with CAD Modeling software and interpretation of engineering drawings and schematics.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced mathematical and statistics background.
Advanced technical writing skills.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics and systems.
Diesel and/or Agricultural equipment repair and assembly experience.
Computer programming familiarity including Arbor Text, VBA, etc.
PTC product experience including Windchill, Creo, and Windchill Quality Solutions.
Vendor development and support experience.

SUMMARY
Perform engineering analysis of (original, new, modified, or improved) vehicle components and subsystems for reliability, maintainability, safety and human factors impacts in accordance with engineering standards and project scope. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with heavy truck (military or non-military), agriculture, automotive or heavy construction product design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General
1. Perform analyses of vehicle components and subsystems, that will include layouts, diagrams, bills of material, and drawings/schematics of components and assemblies with supporting calculations, (reliability impact, repair times, safety hazards, tradeoffs) in support of the overall vehicle design with minimal supervision
2. Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner. Conduct duties consistent with the Company's mission statement, quality objectives, and defined policies and procedures
3. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues
4. Provide direction to associate specialists regarding engineering analysis
5. Ensure the program defines and collects evidence in meeting established Reliability/Safety requirements
6. Participates in Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings, system design meetings, program engineering review and change board meetings
7. Participates in Working Groups (WGs) to validate the system's design to meet requirements
8. Review and provide input to Systems Engineering, Design and Software documentation consistent with project phase to include requirements development, design, development, verification, test methods and performance verification
9. Support Configuration Control Board (CCB)
Reliability, Availability, Maintainability
1. Monitor and manage the Test Incident Report (TIR) process during vehicle reliability testing
2. Provide technical assistance with TIR database management and ability to create custom queries from the TIR database in support of reliability analysis
3. Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action, with Design Engineering on new product issues
4. Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering discipline
*A qualified candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
