POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a resilient, high-energy, experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer, who will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for quality assurance of our software who will interface with software design engineers, system and software safety engineers, and representatives from other subsystems to plan, document, and execute effective strategies ensuring our processes and best practices are effective for a safe and reliable operations of our software both on the ground and in space.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop software quality assurance plans, processes and procedures related to the design, qualification, test, and acceptance of products to ensure products adhere todefined requirements and standards
  • Maintain and ensure our Quality Management System (QMS) for compliance with AS 9100 and CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration)
  • Support and execute process for non-conforming products, as necessary
  • Support various working groups and panels specializing in anomaly/Nonconformance resolution ensuring the Corrective/Preventative Action Plan (CA/PA) implementation is inalignment with our competency of teamwork within Axiom
  • Support internal audits, submit findings, recommend Corrective Action Requests (CARs),and ensure timely completion of audits to ensure compliance with our policies and procedures, standards and certifications
  • Conduct product and process assessments/audits for compliance that support continuousimprovements aligning with our core value of innovation at Axiom
  • Support the organization in achieving and maintaining a Capability Maturity ModelIntegration (CMMI) level certification in software development
  • Develop quality reports/presentations and perform other Safety and Mission Assurance(S&MA) tasks as necessary
  • Maintain and improve quality processes and procedures
  • Implement and ensure adherence to the nonconformance process that ensuresnonconformances are investigated, trends are tracked, and issues resolved
  • Develop S&MA reports/status/presentations to S&MA and program leadership in alignment with our quality management system to support our objectives and goals
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance for human spaceflight
  • Experience in performing AS 9100 audits and assessments is desired but not required
  • Experience in maintaining a CMMI level rating in software development
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) and quality processes related to theaerospace industry
  • Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
  • Ability to plan, perform analyses, and report results in relationship to the qualityrequirements, product and process assessments, qualification, test, audit,trends, and improvement of products
  • Experience in the management of and tracking of tasks, activities and milestones in JIRAand Confluence

Requirements

  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
