Job description

Quality Technician (Swing Shift)
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Pay Rate: $28โ€“$31/hour DOE
Schedule: Swing Shift (2:00 PM โ€“ 10:30 PM)

Position Overview
The Quality Technician will support manufactured and externally sourced components that are later assembled into high-performance electronic test equipment. This role focuses on precision inspection and measurement of complex components produced through advanced manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will apply strong technical skills to ensure quality standards are met, analyze issues, and implement effective solutions. This position operates within a collaborative team environment and plays a critical role in maintaining product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical inspection and measurement of precision components including milled, turned, chemical milled, wire EDM, gun drilled, plated, and laser-machined parts
  • Utilize metrology tools to verify conformance to engineering specifications
  • Interpret and work from 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve quality-related issues of moderate scope
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process adherence
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering and production
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal procedures
  • Contribute to team goals while maintaining high workmanship standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and models
  • Hands-on experience with metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with clearly defined objectives
  • Commitment to quality, ethics, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards
  • Certifications such as ASQ-CMI or CQI
  • Familiarity with ANSI Z540.3 and/or ISO 17025
  • Experience operating CMM and optical measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of optical interferometry and surface profiling tools
  • Experience with SPC software and data analysis
  • Exposure to 3D modeling software (NX, SolidWorks, or similar)
Education & Experience
  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering or related technical field OR
  • 2โ€“5 years of relevant quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
