Who You Will Work With:

The vacant Project Manager role will report to the Leader, Card Payments. The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end project management of technical and business projects, within Interac's Payments product. The Project Manager drives the end-to-end project plan, from building out the specs to liaising directly with external partners, managing the details as well as the big picture. The Project Manager is capable of responding resourcefully to challenging situations and is able to foster a calming influence on others.

What You Will Do:

  • End-to-end project management for multiple cross-functional projects supporting the Payments product, varying in size and complexity, including detailed planning, budgeting, reporting, implementation, and change management
  • Plan and execute projects as per standard processes and methodology
  • Effectively manage change to project scope, and take active leadership in timely decision making
  • Manage, measure and report on project scope, schedule, risk and health indicators according to the defined reporting standards, KPIs, governance structure, and rules of engagement.
  • Prepare, maintain, and report on project budgets, including leading the tracking and accounting of project-related expenditures.
  • Establish project schedules, manage communications and scope and oversee the project delivery
  • Drive the project communications to project sponsors and senior management.
  • Lead and facilitate project retrospectives and requirement sessions, document outcomes and follow up on actions assigned to ensure completion
  • Manage the project resources, and lead project team members, providing administrative oversight of the resources throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Manage vendor or third-party relationships, as required by the needs of the project
  • Manage inter-team dependencies and resolve scheduling conflicts for activities that are performed by internal and vendor teams

What You Bring:

  • You are decisive and a solution-focused project leader with 3+ years experience managing technical and business projects, preferably in the financial services industry, information technology, product development and/or business transformation.
  • You have a university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combined relevant work experience and certifications.
  • A PMP certification or Scrum Master certification is preferred.
  • You have a strong working experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Planview PPM.
  • You have experience in technology delivery in support of product development and infrastructure projects.
  • You are highly detail oriented and meticulous. Your focus is on accomplishing every milestone while ensuring processes are followed and issues are proactively dealt with.
  • You are a skilled negotiator and navigator. You respond calmly and resourcefully to challenging situations, roadblocks, conflicts and change requests.
  • You have expertise in working closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify business challenges and to develop effective strategies to realise visions and increase adoption.
  • You are an outstanding communicator in formal, informal, large, small, verbal and written communications. You can effectively influence and work with people at all levels.
