Job description

Project Manager (Design-Build Construction)

Location: Southwestern Ontario

Salary: $90,000-$110,000

Are you a Project Manager who enjoys owning projects from concept through completion - not just managing paperwork?

We're partnering with a growing design-build contractor that delivers industrial, commercial, and specialized construction projects across Ontario. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team where your voice matters, your ideas are welcomed, and you'll have the autonomy to lead projects while helping shape the future of the business.

If you're looking for a long-term home with a company that's investing in technology, people, and sustainable growth, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of projects from pre-construction through closeout, working directly with clients, consultants, field teams, and subcontractors to deliver successful projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing projects from initial planning through final turnover
  • Developing budgets, schedules, procurement strategies and project plans
  • Coordinating permits, contracts, change orders and project documentation
  • Leading communication with owners, consultants, architects and trade partners
  • Supporting tendering, subcontractor buyout and contract negotiations
  • Working closely with Site Superintendents to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
  • Monitoring financial performance, forecasting costs and managing project risks
  • Conducting regular site visits to support field operations and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities to improve project delivery, processes and overall efficiency
  • Utilizing cloud-based project management technology as the company continues to modernize its operations

What We're Looking For

We're less concerned about decades of experience and more interested in finding someone who is well-rounded, collaborative and eager to grow with the business.

You'll be successful if you have:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial, industrial or institutional construction
  • Design-build experience
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through completion
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling and contract administration skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • The confidence to work with owners, consultants, trades and internal teams alike
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills
  • Comfort learning and utilizing modern construction management software
  • A valid driver's licence with a clean driving record

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

  • Food processing or CFIA-regulated facilities
  • Pre-engineered building construction
  • Jonas Construction Software
  • Construction technology, engineering or related education
  • PMP, Gold Seal, P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation

Compensation & Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, you'll receive:

  • Company truck
  • Fuel card
  • RRSP matching program (up to 3%)
  • Annual profit-sharing program
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Quarterly employee appreciation events
  • Catered lunches, food trucks and seasonal celebrations throughout the year

Why Join?

This isn't a large corporate environment where you're one of hundreds of employees.

You'll join a close-knit team that values collaboration, communication and continuous improvement. Leadership encourages new ideas, invests in technology, and is committed to building a company where great people can build long-term careers - not just complete projects.

If you're looking for an opportunity to make an impact while working alongside people who genuinely enjoy what they do, we'd love to speak with you.

Apply in confidence. All applications will be handled with the strictest confidentiality through Blackridge Search Group.
