Job description

Reporting to the Vice President of Contract Services, the Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of engineered dewatering solutions for complex subsurface utility and infrastructure construction projects. This role requires strong geotechnical and hydrogeological expertise, along with in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements governing construction dewatering. The Project Manager oversees site assessments, secures required environmental permits (including PTTW and discharge approvals), and develops comprehensive dewatering, discharge management, and environmental monitoring plans to deliver fully integrated, compliant, and technically sound solutions for our clients.


Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, organization, direction, control, and evaluation of construction dewatering projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely progress and adherence to specifications.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial construction projects, particularly in Transportation and Water/Sewer Infrastructure sectors, heavy Civil and large infrastructure projects.
  • Manage client relations, inclusive of prompt response to all requests for proposals, quotations and scheduling of services.
  • Based on site conditions and project requirements, select proper drilling, support and pumping equipment technology, as well as all material and technical support requirements to provide a full contract service solution to the client.
  • Work with and lead our engineering and estimating staff to ensure prompt and professional preparation of technical proposals, engineered dewatering plans, engineered discharge filtration plans, and budgets with a defined scope of work.
  • Attend meetings with clients related to all new project opportunities, as well as all progress meetings throughout life of contract.
  • Act in compliance with Aquatech’s Health and Safety and Environmental Management
  • Oversee project invoices and coordinate with the accounting team to track accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and support healthy project cash flow.
  • Actively contributes to business growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new project opportunities and expanding client relationships within our target infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and leadership by performing additional duties as necessary to ensure project success, client satisfaction, and the continued growth and success of the organization.


Qualifications and Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field. (Background in geotechnical, hydrogeological, or water systems engineering considered an asset.)
  • 5–10 years of progressive project management experience in construction.
  • PMP or Gold Seal Certification preferred.
  • Safety certifications (COR, WHMIS, First Aid) are an asset.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera). (Competent in MS Office and AutoCAD preferred.)
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration skills.
  • Ability to direct and motivate project teams.
  • Communication: excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders. (Ability to present complex technical information clearly to clients and teams.)
  • Problem-Solving: quick, effective decision-making in fast-paced environments.
  • Resourcefulness and initiative to work with minimal supervision.


Compensation:

$90,000 – $150,000 per year.
