Job description

Senior IT Project Manager
Hybrid Role
Compensation: $51.51/hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is responsible for managing and leading large-scale IT projects, with a primary focus on overseeing the migration of an on-premises Oracle Data Warehouse to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The Project Manager will be accountable for relationship management, project planning, resource allocation, tactical execution, and the creation and oversight of final project deliverables. The position involves coordinating multiple projects, defining user and team roles, establishing requirements and deliverables, and monitoring stakeholder activities to meet timelines and budgets. The Project Manager will manage large enterprise projects involving multiple internal stakeholders and contracted resources, develop and maintain project plans, and communicate project status to management and stakeholders. Additionally, the role includes mentoring intermediate project managers, recommending training and experience, and ensuring successful delivery of project outcomes. Candidates should have experience in IT project management, digital transformation, and familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid. Strong technical knowledge in modernizing Oracle data warehouses and excellent communication skills are essential.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and oversee project planning, resource allocation, and tactical execution.
  • Lead the end-to-end migration of on-premises Oracle Data Warehouse to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects to ensure successful completion.
  • Direct large enterprise projects involving multiple internal and external resources.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain comprehensive project plans.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for users and project team members.
  • Gather and define user requirements, deliverables, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of all stakeholders to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Communicate project status and progress to management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide intermediate project managers, recommending training and development opportunities.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Experience in IT Project Management and digital transformation.
  • Prior experience with large government software projects (desired).
  • Strong knowledge of information systems development life cycle, information technology, project management tools, and approaches to development and implementation.
  • Proficiency with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and explain SDLC principles to program/business stakeholders with limited exposure to large software projects.
  • Expertise in modernizing Oracle, PL/SQL, and data warehouses using BigQuery, Dataflow, and DataStream.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams to develop project plans, manage risk registers, and overcome obstacles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills required.
