The Software Developer I designs, develops, and maintains high-quality software solutions that meet business and customer needs. Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software features and components aligned with business objectives
- Implement and support user-facing functionality for internal and external applications
- Configure and customize vendor-provided packaged software as needed
- Identify, document, and resolve software defects and moderately complex technical issues
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle using agile methodologies
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of APIs for internal and external products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and communicate technical concepts
- Maintain technical documentation and adhere to confidentiality and security standards
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience in software development
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, .NET, or Java
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and agile development methodologies
- Experience with agile planning tools such as Azure DevOps
- Basic knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and/or NoSQL
- Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to document defects and solutions accurately
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements
- Insurance industry experience or knowledge of property and casualty concepts preferred but not required

The Pay Rate range for this position is $45 - $55 per hour, excluding benefits. Your final Pay Rate will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
