Job Description
Our client, a financially strong enterprise organization, is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support a high-profile Agile product team responsible for customer-facing financial applications.
This position is ideal for an experienced automation engineer who enjoys writing code, solving technical challenges, improving automation frameworks, and collaborating closely with developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
Rather than simply executing automated test scripts, you'll help design and implement enterprise automation solutions while influencing quality engineering practices across the team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise automation frameworks
- Build scalable UI, API, and integration automation solutions
- Lead automation strategy and promote Quality Engineering best practices
- Develop automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
- Design comprehensive regression, integration, and system testing strategies
- Create and execute both automated and manual test cases
- Perform automation code reviews and peer reviews
- Troubleshoot complex automation issues and improve framework reliability
- Collaborate closely with software developers, Product Owners, and Agile teams
- Mentor junior QA engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Research and evaluate emerging testing technologies, automation tools, and AI-assisted development capabilities
- Drive continuous improvement across quality engineering processes
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on UI and API automation experience
- 5+ years of programming experience using JavaScript, TypeScript and/or Java
- Strong expertise with Playwright
- Experience developing automation frameworks
- Experience testing REST APIs and microservices
- Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of Agile software development
- Experience with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
