Job description

Koniag IT Systems, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an IT Asset/License Manager to support KITS and our government customer Washington, DC. The position is hybrid, requires 1 day onsite. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. The IT Asset / License Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, tracking, and reporting of CLIENT's IT hardware asset inventory, software license compliance, and Government-Furnished Property (GFP) records. This individual serves as the dedicated technical manager for CLIENT's IT asset lifecycle and software license compliance program, ensuring that all IT assets are accurately tracked, properly managed, and compliant with applicable Federal property management and software licensing requirements throughout their full lifecycle. This role is focused specifically on IT asset lifecycle management and software license compliance - the technical discipline of maintaining accurate hardware and software asset inventories, conducting license reconciliation activities, managing GFP in accordance with FAR 52.245-1, supporting asset procurement and disposition activities, and providing reliable asset and license data that enables informed IT management decisions across CLIENT's enterprise environment. This individual must demonstrate solid technical proficiency in enterprise IT asset management, software license compliance, CMDB administration, and Federal property management requirements, with the ability to independently manage routine and moderately complex asset and license management tasks and escalate complex issues to the Vendor / Asset / Financial Management Lead as appropriate. Key Responsibilities: IT Hardware Asset Lifecycle Management * Manage the full lifecycle of CLIENT's IT hardware asset inventory, from acquisition through deployment, maintenance, and disposition, ensuring accurate tracking and accountability at every stage * Maintain a comprehensive, accurate, and current IT hardware asset inventory for all endpoints, servers, network equipment, mobile devices, peripherals, and other IT hardware assets across CLIENT's enterprise environment * Coordinate asset receiving, tagging, and intake activities for newly acquired IT hardware assets, ensuring all new assets are accurately recorded in the Government ITSM platform upon receipt * Support asset deployment activities in coordination with the End-User Services Lead, Infrastructure and Platform Operations team, and Network Engineer T4 team * Conduct periodic physical asset inventory audits and reconciliation activities to validate inventory accuracy against physical asset records and CMDB data * Manage end-of-life asset identification and disposition activities in accordance with Federal property disposal requirements and CLIENT procedures * Maintain accurate asset records in the Government ITSM platform, including asset descriptions, serial numbers, model information, locations, assignments, warranty status, and lifecycle stage Software License Compliance Management: * Manage CLIENT's enterprise software license compliance program, maintaining accurate license inventory and ensuring compliance with all vendor licensing agreements across CLIENT's software portfolio * Maintain accurate software license records for all enterprise software titles, including license entitlements, deployment counts, license types, maintenance and support agreements, and renewal dates * Conduct periodic software license reconciliation activities, comparing license entitlements against actual deployment counts to validate compliance and identify over-provisioning or under-utilization * Identify and document software license compliance risks, communicating findings and remediation recommendations to the Vendor / Asset / Financial Management Lead * Support software license renewal activities by providing accurate utilization data, compliance assessments, and license requirement projections to the Vendor / Asset / Financial Management Lead * Coordinate with the SaaS Platform Administrator on SaaS license utilization tracking and reconciliation activities * Coordinate with the Microsoft Infrastructure Administrator (Senior) on Microsoft license compliance monitoring and optimization activities * Maintain accurate software license documentation, including license agreements, entitlement records, and compliance reconciliation reports CMDB Administration & Asset Record Management: * Administer and maintain the configuration management database (CMDB) for all asset-related configuration items in the Government ITSM platform * Ensure CMDB asset records are accurate, complete, and current, including hardware specifications, software installations, network connectivity, and relationship data * Coordinate CMDB data quality activities, including automated discovery integration, manual record updates, and periodic data quality audits * Support CMDB integration with asset discovery tools to automate asset detection and inventory reconciliation * Maintain accurate CMDB relationship data, including asset-to-service mappings and asset-to-configuration item dependencies * Provide CMDB data and reporting to support incident management, change management, and problem management activities * Coordinate with functional area teams on CMDB record accuracy for assets within their areas of responsibility Government-Furnished Property (GFP) Management: * Manage Government-Furnished Property records in accordance with FAR 52.245-1 and CLIENT property management requirements * Maintain accurate GFP records in the Government ITSM platform and property management system, including asset descriptions, serial numbers, locations, assignments, and condition * Coordinate GFP intake activities, ensuring all Government-furnished assets are accurately received, documented, and recorded upon transfer to the contractor * Support Government property audits and inventory verifications as requested by the COR or Contracting Officer * Coordinate return or transfer of GFP at task order closeout in accordance with Contracting Officer disposition instructions * Maintain property management system adequacy throughout the entire period of performance in accordance with FAR 52.245-1 requirements * Report GFP discrepancies, losses, or damages to the Vendor / Asset / Financial Management Lead and Government COR promptly Asset Procurement Support: * Support IT hardware procurement activities by providing accurate asset inventory data, lifecycle status information, and replacement requirement projections * Coordinate with vendors on hardware quotes, product availability, delivery schedules, and warranty registration activities * Maintain accurate procurement documentation in the Government ITSM platform, including purchase orders, delivery receipts, warranty records, and vendor contact information * Support IT refresh planning activities by providing asset lifecycle data, end-of-life schedules, and hardware replacement cost estimates to the Vendor / Asset / Financial Management Lead * Coordinate hardware delivery and receiving activities, ensuring newly acquired assets are properly documented and entered into the asset inventory upon receipt * Maintain accurate asset procurement records and provide procurement data to support IT financial management and cost tracking activities Asset Discovery & Automated Inventory Management: * Administer and maintain asset discovery tools and automated inventory management solutions in coordination with the Infrastructure and Platform Operations team * Monitor asset discovery scan results, investigating and resolving discrepancies between discovered assets and CMDB records * Maintain asset discovery tool configurations, scan schedules, and coverage settings to ensure comprehensive asset visibility across CLIENT's enterprise environment * Coordinate with the Network Engineer T4 team on network-based asset discovery coverage and scan configuration * Support integration of asset discovery data with the Government ITSM platform CMDB for automated record updates * Develop and maintain asset discovery runbooks, configuration standards, and operational procedures Software Asset Management (SAM) Tools Administration: * Administer and maintain software asset management tools and automated license discovery solutions used to support CLIENT's software license compliance program * Monitor SAM tool results, investigating and resolving discrepancies between license entitlements and discovered software deployments * Maintain SAM tool configurations, discovery schedules, and reporting settings to ensure comprehensive software inventory visibility * Generate software license compliance reports from SAM tools for review by the Vendor / Asset / Financial Management Lead * Support integration of SAM tool data with the Government ITSM platform for consolidated license compliance reporting * Coordinate with software vendors on license compliance inquiries, audit responses, and entitlement verification activities Asset Reporting & Analytics: * Generate routine and ad hoc IT asset inventory, license compliance, and GFP status reports
