Job description

This research internship is based within the division of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine. The intern will work alongside the investigators, biostatisticians, and research coordinators to participate in study design, data management, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.
All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. The intern will learn to develop statistical analysis plans for clinical studies, including applying appropriate statistical methods and conducting sample size and power calculations.
2. The intern will gain practical experience cleaning, merging, and managing complex real-world clinical datasets using standard statistical software such as R.
3. The intern will learn to interpret statistical results and translate outputs into clear summaries, tables, figures, and manuscript-ready materials.
