In this role, you will lead a talented team in developing advanced Mission Systems capabilities that protect our nation and allies, utilizing modern hardware and software development practices such as: Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), DevSecOps, and Agile development methodologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Leads individual contributors performing engineering and technical activities associated with Advanced Mission Systems Capability Development which includes requirements decomposition, software development, and integration & test.

  • Team Execution; Drive programmatic execution for Mission Systems Capability Developments. Develop, track and communicate metrics to quantify technical and business performance, organize all EVM reporting and analysis.

  • Customer Engagement:Interface daily with customers and Boeing program office teams.

  • Safety Oversight:Ensure personnel and product safety related to design, production, and operation of integrated capabilities.

  • Technical Oversight & Engineering Excellence:Establish a culture of proactive technical oversight and risk management while ensuring systems engineering, technical integrity, and mission assurance for Mission Systems Capabilities

  • Process Improvement:Implement and enforce engineering functional excellence in people, processes, tools, and practices, while continuously assessing and updating engineering processes for improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work with functional counterparts to ensure process inputs and outputs meet requirements.

  • Supplier Execution: Provides Technical Management of Supplier Execution

  • Compliance:Ensure engineering efforts are executed in compliance with established requirements and plans.

  • Mentorship & Development:Develop employees' skills through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations

  • Resource Planning:Plan and coordinate allocation of resources to meet program goals.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

  • A final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

  • 5 years' related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."

  • 3+ years of experience in leading Mission Systems development and Integration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master's degree or higher

  • Experience integrating Mission Systems equipment

  • Experience with Mission Systems Open Architecture Standards

  • Experience executing in an Agile work environment and implementing Agile Methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively at multiple levels (peers, executive leaders, and customers)

  • Proven track record of execution in a development environment

  • Experience with modern software development methodologies to include DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience working in MSOSA or similar Model Based Systems Engineering tools

  • Experience across multiple phases of the product life-cycle

  • Experience applying Program Management Best Practices (PMBPs) to include project planning / scheduling and applying Earned Value Management (EVM).

Education:

Manager (Level K): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
