Job Summary: The Senior Software Engineer supports ScriptProโ€™s Information Services and business operations by designing, implementing, and improving enterprise integrations, middleware platforms, automation, analytics enablement, and related technology solutions. This role applies senior-level technical expertise to connect systems, support APIs and middleware services, move data effectively, modernize enterprise platforms, and enable reporting, artificial intelligence, and automation capabilities. They work with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to translate business needs into secure, scalable solutions that improve interoperability, process efficiency, and operational visibility. The position also provides hands-on implementation and production support for integrations, data exchange processes, reporting and analytics solutions, and other enterprise technology initiatives. This role helps ensure supported solutions are reliable, maintainable, well documented, aligned with business needs, and guided by operational standards and technology governance.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Enterprise Technology Enablement

Shift: General business hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm CST. This role may require flexibility based on business needs. This role is primarily performed remotely, though Kansas City Metro employees may have on-campus requirements according to departmental policy and business need. Generally, all positions may be fully performed on-campus in Mission, KS. Regular, punctual, and predictable attendance is an essential function of every job at ScriptPro.

Scope of the Role:

  • Design, develop, implement, support, and enhance enterprise integrations, middleware services, APIs, automation solutions, data exchange processes, and system connectivity capabilities
  • Serve as a senior technical contributor for middleware and integration platforms, including architecture support, troubleshooting, monitoring, documentation, configuration, and lifecycle management
  • Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, architects, and vendors to gather requirements and translate business needs into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions
  • Support integration and automation initiatives involving enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, databases, reporting tools, file exchanges, APIs, web services, scheduled jobs, and middleware components
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration specifications, data mappings, operational processes, implementation plans, support procedures, and knowledge management content
  • Provide technical support for UKG Ready-related integrations, reporting needs, automation opportunities, data flows, and platform enhancement initiatives
  • Support analytics and operational intelligence capabilities using SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, or other reporting and analytics solutions as needed
  • Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and emerging technologies to improve productivity, service quality, technical operations, and business outcomes
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues involving integrations, middleware services, data synchronization, automation jobs, reporting outputs, APIs, authentication, permissions, and platform dependencies
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Security, and application teams to improve data visibility, system reliability, traceability, and operational metrics
  • Improve integration monitoring, alerting, error handling, logging, operational dashboards, and support processes to reduce risk and improve maintainability
  • Participate in solution design, technical reviews, implementation planning, testing, release readiness, change management, and post-implementation support activities
  • Support software delivery lifecycle processes, technical governance practices, standards development, and continuous improvement efforts for enterprise technology enablement platforms
  • Evaluate vendor tools, platform capabilities, emerging technologies, and implementation options to support technology modernization and operational efficiency
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and escalation support for other technical team members
  • Ensure supported solutions meet security, compliance, governance, availability, performance, and operational support requirements
  • Foster a culture focused on technical excellence, ownership, innovation, continuous improvement, accountability, and customer service
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 5-8+ years of Information Technology experience in software engineering, enterprise application support, integration development, middleware support, automation, analytics, or related technology functions
  • Experience designing, implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise integrations, APIs, middleware platforms, web services, file exchanges, data synchronization processes, or cross-system automation
  • Experience implementing workflow automation, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, chatbots, or AI-assisted business process solutions
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems integration, application interoperability, data mapping, error handling, monitoring, logging, authentication, security, and operational support practices
  • Experience with integration technologies such as REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, SQL, ETL processes, scheduled jobs, message queues, middleware tools, or related connectivity patterns
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, databases, reporting environments, business workflows, and production support processes
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating those requirements into technical designs, integration specifications, platform improvements, automation solutions, or reporting capabilities
  • Experience with analytics or reporting platforms such as SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, or similar business intelligence and dashboarding solutions
  • Experience supporting or integrating HRIS, payroll, workforce management, or enterprise business systems; UKG Ready experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, automation, machine learning concepts, or practical AI-enabled productivity and business process improvement opportunities
  • Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and leadership
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, support multiple platforms, and drive technical work from analysis through implementation and support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Enterprise Product frameworks, DevOps practices, CI/CD, source control, work management tools, or software delivery lifecycle platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, solution design, technology governance, technical standards, and platform lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading technical implementation efforts, coordinating vendors, supporting system upgrades, or participating in enterprise technology modernization initiatives.
  • Experience mentoring technical professionals, conducting peer reviews, creating technical standards, or facilitating knowledge transfer across teams.
  • Related certifications in software engineering, cloud platforms, analytics, integration technologies, project management, Agile, security, AI, or enterprise architecture
