Job description

Group fitness instructors will lead members, in a group environment, through safe and effective fitness classes. This position is responsible for providing group exercise fitness instruction and supervision in a variety of formats. Candidates must be able to instruct multiple fitness levels and ensure the safety of all members in the class. This person will enforce all building policiesย  to group exercise and be able to communicate these to a diverse group of members why policies are in place. The instructor will serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness and wellness, and are responsible in ensuring that safety of the members is not compromised.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have a current nationally recognized fitness certification in Personal Training or Fitness Instructor such as NASM, ISSA, ACSM, ACE, NCSF, NFPT, NESTA.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications Required.
  • Basic software skills; (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Instruct a variety of group exercise classes. ย 
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment and exercises.
  • Arriving at class 15 minutes early to prepare and set up. ย 
  • Communication to the Fitness Director and Membership Director about canceled, arriving late to class or need of a sub.
  • Take attendance before starting class.

Pay Rate: $50 per hour.
