Job description

Job Summary

Position: Senior Systems Engineer – Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer (Onsite, Tucson, AZ). The role involves developing advanced physics‑based modeling solutions for the DoD Space EO/IR/RF domain, creating C++ models, implementing phenomenology, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
  • Develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
  • Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics principles in a software implementation.
  • Enable customer success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
  • Work efficiently inside an established software product across programming languages and build environments.
  • Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
  • Coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
  • Mentor and share EO or RF expertise with your team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience applying object‑oriented software design in C++, C, and using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux, Apple OS or Windows command line.
  • Knowledge of electro‑optics or radar processing, imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms.
  • Ability to obtain an interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
  • Experience with OpenGL, CUDA, or other GPU accelerated languages/architectures and Scene Generation/Sensor Modeling technologies.
  • Experience with electronic warfare modeling, developing signal processing algorithms for missile applications, signal & image processing, digital communications, estimation theory, or AI/ML training techniques.
  • Experience with real‑time programming, software change management tools and processes, using and augmenting build systems (Make/CMake), and working with large production software environments.
  • Experience interfacing with adjacent engineering disciplines (Signal Processing, Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering).
Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 annually. Relocation assistance available for the Tucson, AZ location. Hired applicants may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, parental leave, paid time off and holidays. Additional benefits and incentive programs depend on the business unit and collective‑bargaining agreement.
