Job description

Trycewell Partners is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager on behalf of a well established Industrial and Construction services organization supporting major energy and infrastructure projects across Western Canada.

This is an opportunity for a strong construction and mechanical project professional to step into a leadership role overseeing complex brownfield and greenfield projects within industrial environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in project execution, client management, budgeting, forecasting, and overall operational delivery while working alongside senior construction leadership.

This position is ideally suited for someone who thrives in fast paced project environments, enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, and has strong experience managing mechanical construction scopes, shutdowns, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful execution of multiple industrial and mechanical construction projects from initiation through completion
  • Interface directly with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal project teams throughout all phases of project execution
  • Develop and implement project execution plans aligned with scope, schedule, safety, quality, and budget requirements
  • Manage project financials including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, change management, and progress reporting
  • Review and execute contracts in accordance with client specifications, project scope, and commercial requirements
  • Provide leadership and direction to project controls and field execution teams
  • Support scheduling, estimating, procurement coordination, and overall project planning activities
  • Ensure all work is executed in compliance with company safety standards, client expectations, and operational procedures
  • Participate in performance reviews, mentorship, and development of project personnel
  • Maintain strong communication with leadership regarding project performance, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing industrial, mechanical, or construction projects within energy or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong exposure to brownfield and greenfield construction projects and plant shutdowns
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, mechanical packages, instrumentation drawings, and Requests for Proposals
  • Experience with project estimating, scheduling, forecasting, and project management systems
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to analyze project performance an drive corrective actions where required
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills
  • Education in project management, business, engineering, construction management, or related technical disciplines preferred
  • Journeyperson or Red Seal certification or Engineering background
  • Travel and site rotation required
