Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of software development projects across our organization. This role is responsible for managing project scope, timelines, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication while ensuring development teams follow a structured software development life cycle.
The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience managing software projects, understands Agile and traditional SDLC methodologies, and can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The Day-to-Day:
  • Lead software development projects from discovery and planning through development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
  • Create and maintain project plans, timelines, sprint schedules, resource plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage project scope and ensure change requests are documented, evaluated, approved, and communicated.
  • Translate business needs into actionable user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, and development requirements.
  • Set up processes, tools, and cadences for communication, project planning, project tracking and documentation, issue tracking and documentation, metrics, dashboards, and reports.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate testing, UAT, release planning, deployment readiness, and production go-live activities
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Product, Chief Architect, and Director of Engineering to ensure technical alignment and execution excellence across initiatives.
  • Design, implement, and lead the end-to-end software testing lifecycle. As the manager of Quality Assurance, you will move beyond "gatekeeping" to build a culture of baked-in quality across development, product, and documentation.

*This is an in-office position in either of our offices in Sandy, UT, or Columbia, MO, with opportunities for a hybrid schedule post-onboarding.
Requirements
  • A formal degree in Computer Science, Software Design, and/or other Bachelor's degree with equivalent on-the-job experience in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in software project management
  • A Scrum Master certification or a PMP certification.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira.
  • 1+ years of QA management experience.
  • Must have a passion for software development that drives you to give 110% on delivering an exceptional product each time.
  • Familiar with the basic concepts of a typical IT infrastructure, like servers, storage, business applications (ERP, CRM, BI, etc.), and the role a database plays in it.

Position Preferences
  • Experience coding in C, C++, Python, Java (JDBC), and/or PHP
  • Experience working with IoT and IIoT.
  • Experience with FairCom DB, RTG, EDGE, IoT/IIoT, or competitors such as Litmus, Ignition, Influx, EnterpriseDB, MariaDB, etc.
