As an Operations Improvement System Engineer within the Industrial Engineering organization at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of a team responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of the production operations. The Operations Improvement team is responsible for facility optimization, improving overall manufacturing efficiency and ensuring high product quality. Engineers will develop systems in a diverse range of topics such as: scheduling and real time dispatch, line management, production metrics and reporting, statistical analysis and project management

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Continuously enhance manufacturing systems to improve prediction accuracy and enable more scenario study capabilities.
  • Work with stakeholders on problem and opportunity identification and investigation, solutions design and development, and testing and deployment for automation systems
  • Create, document, and support business processes for scheduling and automation service requests
  • Support and provide technical expertise for line management decision making (including linearity, cycle time, line yield, wafer starts and output optimization)
  • Support and provide technical expertise for area management decision making (including queue time management, equipment and recipe releases, and general workstation optimization)
  • Support manufacturing scenario studies through automation solutions.
  • Collaborating with production training specialists and industrial engineering trainer to develop new training classes and materials to drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Work with WW teams to align and benchmark training and documentation materials and practices (CST).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required in Industrial Engineering, Integrated Manufacturing, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science or Computer Science
  • The ability to utilize Industrial Engineering concepts (queueing theory, lean, theory of constraints, Little's Law, scheduling, etc.) to implement solutions.
  • The ability to provide fast and repeatable data mining through the use of relational databases.
  • The ability to deliver comprehensive solutions to address root cause through systematic analysis.
  • Demonstrate basic programming skill with one of the following environment: SQL, Angular, C#, Java/JavaScript.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An understanding of the Production and Fabricate Wafers business processes.
  • An understanding on Agile software development concept
  • The ability to quantify improvements using applied statistics.
  • The ability to maintain and continuously improve Industrial Engineering owned reports.
