POSITION: Technical Inside Account Manager
LOCATION: Concord, ON & GTA
MacDonald Search Group is a national permanent placement recruiting firm and we recruit on behalf of hiring companies.
Our client is an established distributor in Ontario of industrial equipment and they are on the hunt to find a junior technical salesperson they can groom from the inside to the field to take over an established book of business and manage and grow their existing customer base. This is a hybrid inside/outside sales position requiring an engineering education coupled with the interpersonal skills to succeed in sales!
The incumbent in this role will develop an expertise in valves and a skill set in selling to chemical/petro chemical, commercial HVAC, industrial, mining, municipal, power, and pulp/paper.
This is an ideal position for a recent grad/junior salesperson who wants to progress into outside sales - this role will give you the opportunity to crawl before you walk but learning the products and the industry working with the team day to day in office and then move into the field with a strong foundation to hit the ground running!
For the first 6-12 months, 5 days/week will be spent in office in Concord and then will become field based in the GTA covering a territory from Toronto to Burlington to Huntsville to Belleville.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Process phone/fax/email inquiries in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Prepare quotations, contracts and proposals.
  • Establish and build strong customer relationships.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship and technical support within the existing customer base.
  • Support Outside Sales as required
  • Process orders in an efficient and timely manner.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings and equipment take-offs
  • High level of commitment to exceptional customer service and relationship building
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with an ability to multi-task/get issues done accurately and quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; CRM / order entry software.
Compensation:
- This is a straight salaried position offering 55-65K to start (compensation increases once transitioned into the field)
- Mileage reimbursement (must have your own vehicle)
