Role Overview

Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Manager, Software Engineering in Aliso Viejo, CA to deliver distributed systems and game virtualization software projects through effective management of stakeholders, dependencies and risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience designing and developing robust systems for next-generation technology in high-performance computing and infrastructure services; debugging and troubleshooting performance and reliability issues for distributed systems and real-time cloud gaming infrastructure; developing low- level Linux software and drivers for datacenter racks; developing testing and benchmarking tools for rack hardware to ensure that they meet functional and performance requirements at high-load levels; translating hardware design schematics into functional specifications for software design and development; driving the software development lifecycle from end to end by creating, reviewing, and maintaining functional specifications, software design documents, and test plans; defining project deliverables, planning, ensuring adherence to schedules, and monitoring and reporting progress to stakeholders; and utilizing programming languages including C/C++, Rust, and Python, version-control systems including Git, and shell scripting for code development and review. **In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree and three (3) years of experience**. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
