Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you an individual whose expertise is in planning projects, following through to make sure these projects are tracked and finished on a timely basis?  Are you a good communicator who works well with the team and can delegate responsibility to others, being a good team leader?  This person will be responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality standards (within agreed specifications), along with collaborating with the customer to provide project progress.  Also will be responsible for creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Leading projects from award of business to start of production
  • Leading cross-functional, cross-site teams to a successful product launch
  • Leading multi-disciplined teams
  • Creates and executes project plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project
  • Applies and enforces the Custom Product Opportunity (CPO) and New Product Introduction (NPI) methodology … and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), where applicable
  • Prepares project tollgate reviews for review by business leadership
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current and archived appropriately
  • Manages the budget for the project … expenses, investment, sales revenue & unit cost
  • Facilitates project team and customer meetings … fosters relationship with customer
  • Leads the team through regular status meetings, driving actions to completion
  • Communicates effectively to the project team of any changes in scope
  • Drives to resolution items that impact timeliness, budget and quality
  • Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner
  • Drives an atmosphere of zero tolerance for execution misses
  • Drives wing-to-wing action items with the cross functional team
  • Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience successfully delivering new product development projects on time, on budget and with high quality.
  • Experience delivering projects within APQP standards.
  • High energy, self-starter with boundary-less behavior.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Interpersonal skills for effective team communication and successful project execution
  • Project Management and/or Program Management certification desired
