Job Description:

Project Engineer
Summary:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Project Managers (PMs) and other key people within the organization with day-to-day tasks such as bidding, scheduling, contracts, billing and collection, etc.
Responsibilities:

  • Assists the PMs with all duties, including but not limited to:
    o Safety
    o Software and applications (HCSS, financials, scheduling, etc.)
    o Take-offs
    o Bidding
    o Building (grading, paving, milling, subcontractors)
    o Scheduling
    o Equipment use
    o Contracts and negotiation
    o Billing and collection
    o Specifications
    o Beginning knowledge of mix designs, plants, and aggregate sites (manufacturing)
    o General business operations (understands details of company operations)
  • In conjunction with the other Project Engineers and PMs, ensures the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Spends time with Operations, PMs, Scheduling and some exposure to Manufacturing and Technical Services
  • Attends project meetings (pre-construction, pre-pave, scheduling, etc.)
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, and interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

  • Prior transportation industry and logistics experience
  • Relevant industry experiences a plus
