ModMed is hiring a driven Senior Software Engineer to join our positive, passionate, and high-performing Product Development team. Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software applications using modern technologies and best practices.
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of significant features and modules within our product suite, ensuring alignment with architectural guidelines and company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards, performance, and security best practices.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Contribute to the improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for production systems as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating and recommending their adoption where appropriate.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant portion focused on web-based applications or enterprise-level software.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript (Node.js, React, Angular).
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate code generation, automate boilerplate reduction, and streamline debugging workflows.
  • Proven ability to leverage LLMs to refactor legacy codebases, improve code readability, and generate comprehensive documentation and unit tests.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, make sound architectural decisions, and drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience in the healthcare technology industry (EHR, practice management, etc.) is a plus.
