Job Summary:
NR Consulting is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with Test Equipment to design, develop, integrate, and maintain software for weapon system product development. The role involves working with multidiscipline engineering teams and contributing to all stages of product development for RMD weapon system products.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, develop and integrate object-oriented software applications using C#, C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio in a Windows Operating System (OS)
โ€ข Prioritize and handle multiple software engineering tasks concurrently
โ€ข Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation
โ€ข Work in a multidiscipline engineering team environment
โ€ข Develop and derive requirements for software products
โ€ข Lead and mentor junior software engineers
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Typically requires a bachelorโ€™s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 yearsโ€™ experience.
โ€ข Experience in developing and integrating software applications using programming languages including but not limited to C++, C#, Java, Python or Visual Basic.
โ€ข Experience with Windows Operating System and Microsoft Visual Studio is required.
โ€ข Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
โ€ข U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
โ€ข Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Preferred:
โ€ข Familiar with computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques
โ€ข Working knowledge of the development of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces
โ€ข Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or RS-422
โ€ข Familiarity with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (Ex. oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters)
โ€ข Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) to visualize software architecture and design
โ€ข Experience of software development lifecycles, such as Waterfall and Agile
โ€ข Experience with Software Configuration Management principles
โ€ข Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps Server or GitHub
โ€ข Good written and interpersonal communication skills
