A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.

Introduction to Team

This Software Development Engineer II role is part of the Supply Partner Experience - Partner Solutions team which sits within our Technology division. The team designs, builds, and operates partner-facing onboarding and management experiences and services for lodging and vacation rental supply partners, making it easier for them to join our marketplace, configure their properties, and manage their ongoing performance at scale.

As part of this team, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components and services within this domain, contributing to scalable, reliable systems and well-structured APIs that empower our partners and enhance traveler experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable full stack services and applications, including well-structured APIs, data models, and low-level system designs that are reliable and easy to extend across multiple product domains.

  • Implement high-quality frontend experiences and backend services using modern engineering practices, ensuring robust integration, security, and performance across the entire stack.

  • Own end-to-end feature delivery from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support, continuously improving code quality and maintainability.

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring solutions are data-driven, customer-focused, and reusable across use cases.

  • Safely integrate and operate AI/MLenabled solutions that improve outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products.

  • Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence by participating in code reviews, refining system design and API patterns, enhancing observability, and driving incremental improvements in reliability and operational practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • Proven ability to own services or features through the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support within a multi-service or domain environment.

  • Proficiency in core software engineering fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, object-oriented or functional design, API design, and data modeling, with hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful or similar services.

  • Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and the ability to safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions into existing applications under guidance and established patterns.

  • Expertise with Java, Node.js, React, JavaScript or TypeScript

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing and evolving low-level system designs, APIs, and data models for full stack applications that operate at scale, including considerations for reliability, performance, and observability.

  • Background working with distributed or multi-service architectures, including building backend services that integrate with multiple data sources and frontend clients across domains.

  • Track record of driving operational excellence on owned services or features, such as improving monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident response practices in production environments.

  • Practical experience applying AI/ML concepts in product features, such as integrating AI-powered APIs, recommendation services, or workflow automation in a way that is safe, testable, and measurable.

  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development or testing tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, or system reliability in a full stack environment.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $119,000.00 to $166,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $190,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
