A Software Engineer at a trading firm designs, develops, and maintains software systems that support trading activities. This includes building high-performance trading platforms, developing algorithms for automated trading, and ensuring low-latency data processing. They collaborate closely with traders, quantitative analysts, and other engineers to create solutions that give the firm a technological edge in the markets. Their work often involves using languages like C++, Python, or Java and working with real-time data feeds and large-scale distributed systems. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of both technology and financial markets.

Job description

Overview

As a trading system engineer, you'll work in a computationally intensive role that will allow you to use your strong technical skills to solve problems at the intersection of trading and technology.

You will have the chance to work on challenging engineering problems across our trading teams in areas such as trading systems engineering, low-latency C++ strategy development, and high-performance C++ libraries that enable large-scale quantitative research and data processing. You’ll work on the desk side by side with senior developers who understand the nuances of building performant, reliable systems for complex trading strategies.

You will begin with a comprehensive education program designed to build a broad understanding of the role trading system engineers play across our trading teams. Once you complete the program, you’ll be placed on a trading team that aligns with your interests and background. This will give you the best preparation possible for a career in trading system engineering.
