We are seeking a Software Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to build and support cloud-based distributed backend systems and large-scale data pipelines for streaming video and content delivery. The role focuses on production backend services using Python or GoLang and related web technologies, with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and low-latency architectures. This engineer will optimize live and linear video workflows, support live events and channels, and maintain cloud-based content delivery services. Success in this position requires effective collaboration with Product Owners and globally distributed teams across countries and time zones.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design, build, and support large-scale, cloud-based distributed backend systems and big data pipelines for video streaming and content delivery.

  • Develop and maintain production backend services using Python, GoLang, NodeJS, TypeScript, and related web technologies.

  • Use in-house and third-party tools to build and support live and linear streaming video pipelines while optimizing video encoding, packaging, and delivery.

  • Monitor and optimize request throughput, response latency, and data-ingestion performance across production services and pipelines.

  • Provide operational and technical support for live events and linear channels.

  • Use requirements and modeling to work with Product Owners to implement smart technology solutions and tools that deliver premium-quality audio and video experiences.

  • Collaborate effectively with remote teams and stakeholders across different countries and time zones.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, automated testing, and large-scale deployments.

  • Continuously learn, improve, and optimize processes and ways of working.

  • Manage and maintain cloud-based content delivery platforms and services.


Qualifications


Required:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 3+ years' experience in software development and web technologies.

  • Proficiency with languages such as GoLang, NodeJS, TypeScript, React etc.

  • Technical experience with cloud-based technologies, specifically within architecture/infrastructure (AWS)

  • Experience in building real-time, large-scale, low-latency distributed systems

  • Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and large-scale deployment

  • Deep understanding of OO Design Principles and Patterns.

  • Embrace open-source technologies

  • Understanding of containerization as it relates to Cloud (Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Key understanding of technology principles and work methods (Agile, Scrum, etc.)


Preferred (Optional):



  • Experience working with digital video workflow and operations, and digital video technology development

  • Understanding of playback protocols such as DASH, CMAF/HLS

  • Knowledge with Server Side Ad insertion (SSAI), transcoding and packaging

  • Knowledge of OTT video delivery pipelines including basic networking concepts, source origination, video ingest & encoding, and packing including encryption and DRM

The base range for this contract position is $65 - $75 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
