About the role and team 

Interns and university graduates at Uber don't just observe - they build. In this role, you will take ownership of the very first step of every Uber journey, contributing to the core Mobile SDKs that power navigation, routing, and safety for millions of riders and drivers. You will be part of a team that moves real people and real assets around their cities, solving high-impact problems under real-world constraints from day one.

The work is fast, the systems are massive, and the problems are complex. You'll need to make smart decisions with imperfect information and stay resilient in a high-stakes environment where your code directly affects the logistical fabric of over 10,000 cities. Rate of Pay:                 $153,000 to $169,000 per year

What you'll do 

  • Design, develop, and test software applications. 
  • Design, develop, and/or test software applications using company technology stack. 
  • Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects in order to provide recommendations to resolve technical issues. 
  • Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity. 
  • Build software components that can be integrated into a fully functional software system. 
  • Solve production issues in product and system reliability. 
  • May telecommute.
     

Basic Qualifications 

  • Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
  • Position requires: 
    • C++, Python, Java, GIT, or SVN; 
    • SQL or MySQL; 
    • Data structures and algorithms development and functionality; 
    • Designing technology stacks; 
    • Debugging and monitoring for production services; 
    • Distributed systems; 
    • Software Development Lifecycle.
