To thrive as a Software Engineer Intern With Housing, you need a solid understanding of programming fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and typically be pursuing or have a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with coding languages (like Python, Java, or C++), version control systems such as Git, and experience with development environments are common technical requirements. Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability are essential soft skills for collaborating effectively and adjusting to new work environments. These skills ensure interns can quickly contribute to projects, integrate with teams, and maximize their learning and impact during the internship.

What is a software engineer intern with housing?

Software Engineer Interns With Housing are students or recent graduates who participate in temporary engineering roles at tech companies, where the employer provides housing or a housing stipend as part of the internship package. These positions allow interns to gain hands-on experience in software development, collaborate with professional teams, and learn industry practices. The housing benefit helps interns who may need to relocate for the internship, making it easier for them to focus on work and learning without worrying about accommodation.

Job description

100% Remote We are currently recruiting a Tech Lead for a fast-growing Québec-based technology company undergoing a major transformation toward a true Product & Technology (P&T) organization. The company is making significant investments in building its own cloud-native platform to gradually replace legacy commercial software. This platform will become the technological foundation of the business and, over time, has the potential to evolve into a commercial software product. This is more than a traditional Tech Lead opportunity. You'll help build a strategic software platform that will shape the company's technological future. We're looking for a passionate technical leader who enjoys remaining hands-on, influencing architectural decisions, mentoring developers, and helping build a modern cloud platform from the ground up. Responsibilities Actively contribute to the development and evolution of a modern cloud platform. Serve as the technical leader and primary technical reference for the development team. Partner closely with the VP of Architecture to transform architectural vision into scalable technical solutions. Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews and engineering best practices. Design robust service-oriented (SOA) and distributed software architectures. Develop APIs and integrations between multiple internal and external systems. Participate in architectural, scalability, performance and platform evolution decisions. Improve DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and software delivery processes. Participate in production deployments and ensure platform reliability. Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation. Collaborate with teams working on Artificial Intelligence initiatives to progressively integrate AI capabilities into the platform. Qualifications Experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, Senior Software Engineer or hands-on Software Architect. Strong background building software products rather than only delivering client projects. Excellent understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices and REST APIs. Experience designing integrations and distributed systems. Experience with C#, .NET, Python or comparable technologies. Experience with React or another modern Front-End framework. Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS or another cloud platform. Good understanding of DevOps, CI/CD and production deployment practices. Experience mentoring developers, performing code reviews and providing technical leadership. Experience documenting technical solutions using Confluence or similar tools. Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Curious, adaptable and passionate about continuous learning. What Will Make You Successful You enjoy building products, not just delivering projects. You naturally take ownership of the software you develop. You think long-term and enjoy solving architectural challenges. You enjoy both software engineering and mentoring developers. You're recognized for your technical rigor, autonomy and ability to deliver. You thrive in environments where engineering excellence and innovation are valued. Employment Details Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week) 100% remote available (Offices in Montreal or Quebec city) Salary: $140,000 – $180,000 , depending on experience Annual bonus Group RRSP with employer contribution Comprehensive group insurance including telemedicine, health spending account and wellness account Vacation based on experience Additional personal days and birthday leave Professional development program and training reimbursement Why Join This Team? Be part of a major Product & Technology transformation. Help build a cloud platform developed entirely in-house. Influence key software architecture and engineering decisions. Work directly with the VP of Innovation & Architecture. Join an environment where innovation, ownership and technical excellence are highly valued. Remain hands-on while continuing to grow your technical leadership. Contribute to a long-term vision where the platform may eventually evolve into a commercial software product. We thank all applicants for their interest. However, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
